He is an expert on the economy of cities, taking an Austrian School approach to the subject. He is the author of _Dynamics of the Mixed Economy: Toward a Theory of Interventionism_ (London: Routledge, 1997) as well as articles in the _Southern Economic Journal,_ _Journal of Economics and Humane Studies,_ _American Journal of Economics \& Sociology, Cosmos + Taxis,_ the _Review of Austrian Economics,_ and the _Independent Review,_ _Forbes,_ and others. He received a BA from Grove City College and a PhD from New York University.
