Biography

Darío Fernández-​Morera is Associate Professor Emeritus in the Spanish & Portuguese department at Northwestern University. He received his Ph.D. at Harvard, and has published several books and articles discussing the encounter between Europeans and Amerindians, Islamic Spain, Modernism, Garcilaso de la Vega, Cervantes, Fray Luis de León, Inca Garcilaso, and Vicente Aleixandre. Fernández-​Morera served in the United States National Council on the Humanities and was honored by the Cervantes Society of America with a lifetime honorary membership.
