David Lewis Schaefer

David Lewis Schaefer is professor emeritus of political science at College of the Holy Cross. Holding a doctorate from the University of Chicago, he was a three-​time fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the recipient of numerous other grants to support his research. Among his other major books besides those mentioned above are Illiberal Justice: John Rawls vs. the American Political Tradition, Democratic Decision-​Making: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives (contributing co-​editor) and Sir Henry Taylor’s “The Statesman” (co-​editor). He now writes for several online periodicals, including Law and Liberty, the AMAC Newsline, the Washington Free Beacon, and Ford Forum.
