David Ramsay Steele

David Ramsay Steele holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Hull. He is the author of several books, including Orwell Your Orwell: A Worldview on the Slab, From Marx to Mises: Post-​Capitalist Society and the Challenge of Economic Calculation, and Atheism Explained: From Folly to Philosophy. Steele was a member of the Socialist Party of Great Britain who converted to libertarianism after studying the socialist calculation debate. He has been Editorial Director of the Open Court Publishing Company since 1985, where in 2000 he conceived and launched the Popular Culture and Philosophy book series.
