Douglas Den Uyl
Biography
Douglas Den Uyl is vice president of educational programs at the Liberty Fund. He was previously a professor at Bellarmine College, Louisville; he is now Vice President Emeritus and Benjamin A. Rogge Resident Scholar at Bellarmine. Den Uyl got a Ph.D. in philosophy from Marquette University. He is the author of The Virtue of Prudence; The Fountainhead: An American Novel; Power, State and Freedom: An Interpretation of Spinoza’s Political Thought; and God, Man, & Well-Being: Spinoza’s Modern Humanism.
With his frequent collaborator Douglass B. Rasmussen he co-edited The Philosophic Thought of Ayn Rand and co-authored Liberty and Nature: An Aristotelian Defense of Liberal Order, Liberalism Defended: The Challenge of Post-Modernity, and Norms of Liberty: A Perfectionist Basis for Non-Perfectionist Politics.
