Dr. Witcher is currently an assistant professor at Huntingdon College. His research covers political, economic, and intellectual history from 1920 to the present day. He earned his BA in history from the University of Central Arkansas in 2011 and received his PhD in history from the University of Alabama in 2017. His research on conservatism has appeared in White House Studies Journal, and he is the coeditor of a three-volume anthology entitled: Public Choice Analyses of American Economic History. He is the author of Getting Right with Reagan: The Struggle for True Conservatism, 1980–2016, published by University Press of Kansas, and his most recent book is Black Liberation through the Marketplace: Hope, Heartbreak, and the Promise of America, coauthored with economic philosopher Rachel Ferguson.
